Losing Gains

Well, all that time off of Tirzepatide made it abundantly clear that I will need to stay on this medication long term. But you know what. I'm okay with that. It's better than being on a statin long term in my opinion. I was off of the 7.5 mg dose of zepbound for 5 weeks because of complications in my gall bladder removal. Some stones were stuck where they didn't belong and irritated the pancreatic duct. A temporary stent was needed to prop open a duct - which then led to another procedure to remove it when decreased swelling didn't release it automatically.
Three surgeries and 5 weeks later, I gained 20 pounds. Seriously, nothing changed in my diet or exercise routines. I will say that the sugar cravings were strong, but my willpower is stronger after losing so much weight.
I've restarted my dose at 5mg...and it's working great. No side effects and weight is steadily decreasing. I'm thankful for the hope that this drug has given me. No stress because I'm confident it is helping my body work as it should.
Onward to swim season! Maybe I'll get a new bathing suit this year! :)
